Mike and Shanda’s wedding day was peaceful, easy going, beautiful and a whole lot of fun. The day started with a girl hangout in a beachfront hotel suite. Probably one of the most calm group of bridesmaids I’ve ever been around. The sun was shining the laughter was strong and Shanda was seriously so relaxed.
From there we made our way to one of my most favorite venues in SLO county… Dana Powers House and Barn in Nipomo California. Which happens to be known as the most consistent comfortable weather. The girls put on their dresses and they guys showed up full of excitement and energy. The ceremony was so smooth and was so personal and sweet like most ceremonies are. I have yet to photograph a ceremony without shedding a tear.
The barn was filled with elegant touches of glass terrariums, olive tree branches, gold chargers and the most beautiful floral arrangements of burgundy, pinks and whites. But my favorite part the chandeliers and twinkle lights filled the barn and created such a magical feel. Dinner was served, toasts were given and then the DANCING began. Probably the best dance party I have ever witnessed. There were people flying in the air…. like no joke. The groom was tossed up several times by his groomsmen and looked something like Ive seen in cheerleading competitions…lol. Well maybe the form wasn’t as good as that but you get the picture. Another gal showed off her skills with a tribute to the iconic scene of Dirty Dancing and it WAS EPIC. I love to photograph dance parties that give me a little more that side steps and snapping fingers.
Anyway the day was perfect The Bride and Groom were so stoked with such a wonderful wedding day and I was thrilled to be chosen to capture it.
