How much does a wedding photographer cost in California?
Wedding photography in California typically runs $3,000 to $8,000 depending on coverage and experience, and my packages start at $5,200.
How many hours of wedding photography coverage do I actually need?
Most full wedding days need at least 8 hours to capture getting ready through the reception, though a smaller celebration might only need 4 to 6, and some require 10-12 hours. I'll help you figure out the right amount when we talk.
What's typically included in a wedding photography package?
A typical package includes coverage time, always a second shooter if a full sized wedding, no limit on edited images, and an online gallery to view and download them. Full details on what's included in mine are on my investment page.
How far in advance should I book my wedding photographer?
Most couples book 9 to 12 months out, especially for a popular date or season. I recommend reaching out as soon as your date and venue are set, since my calendar fills quickly.
How many final photos will I receive from my wedding day?
You can expect roughly 800 to 1200 edited images. I don’t limit the amount of photos I deliver. I just deliver all that is good and that tells the story of your day.
How long does it take to get wedding photos back after the wedding?
Turnaround is usually 6-8 weeks after the wedding, and I'll keep you updated the whole time.
Do I own the rights to my wedding photos, and can I print them myself?
You receive full printing rights to your images, so you can print and share them freely. Just ask me about my specific print release if you want the details.
What happens if my photographer gets sick or can't make it?
I carry a backup plan for every wedding I book, so you're never left without coverage. Your day is too important to leave to chance. My second shooter typically will become the main shooter and then I get them another second shooter. In the 12 years I’ve been a photographer I’ve only had to cover 1 wedding.
Should I hire a second photographer for my wedding?
A second photographer is always included in my full sized wedding packages. If the wedding exceeds 200 people I recommend adding on a 3rd photographer. We can discuss how much additionally that will cost if you need it.
Is an engagement session included in the wedding package?
No engagement sessions are an add on. However I highly recommend booking since these are a great way for us to get used to each other before the big day. The more comfortable you are with me day of the better.
Do you use AI to help edit photos?
No I do not use AI. I personally go through and select every photo I want to deliver and I edit all images myself. I consider editing half of the art of photography and take this portion of the job very seriously.
