For those of you who know me…. you know that I am apart of this wonderful little group of ladies that I like to call “Suite Mates”. The five of us together are The Wedding Space. We each have our own small business in the San Luis Obispo Wedding Industry. Well one of our own Brit Tarr came to us on New Years Day, after joining hundreds of people in The Polar Plunge in Morro Bay CA, to tell us that her and Jordan would like to elope. Not only did they want to elope, but they were hoping to elope in TWO WEEKS!!!. Of course we were all in to help since in January is typically our “off season”. So after a couple weeks of us all coming up with the best plan for them, we found ourself in the bell tower of the Santa Barbara Courthouse witnessing Jordan and Brit exchanging vows exactly two weeks later.
Now; since Shannon McMillan (also a suite mate) and I are both photographers Brit asked us both to capture their memories. To spare the confusion I will be sharing my photos from this wonderful day. Shannon’s photos are jaw dropping so no dis credit to her. You can visit her site at Shannon McMillan Photogaphy.
The reason for Jordan and Brit wanting to elope so quickly was not only because they wanted to move him up to SLO with her right away, but Brit’s Grandparents were going to be in town and they weren’t sure if they would be able to make another trip to CA soon after. Brit and Jordan chose Santa Barbara as a central location for the families and I couldn’t be more pleased with their choice. The Santa Barbara Historic Courthouse was nothing short of amazing. They held their ceremony up in the bell tower which overlooked All of down town Santa Barbara with views of the gorgeous green mountains and on the opposite side the ocean view that was just breathtaking.
Now let me remind you that their wedding day was in the middle of January of 2017, and anyone from CA can remember that we had a pretty great rainy winter and spring. However; after days of rain, their special day was full of sunshine and blue skies. Just after their nuptials in the bell tower the “suite mates” gathered up the arrangements and plants made by our own Nikki of FluidBloom Designs and headed over to Stella Mare’s for their wedding brunch. A total of 30 guests joined and it was the most enjoyable intimate daytime wedding. I found myself feeling like “boy why don’t more people do it like this?” The wedding brunch consisted of toasts, a wonderful meal, an intimate cake cutting, the first dance and conversations that the Zieglers will remember for a lifetime. Some sweet touches were the hops on the cake by Paper Cake Events, since Jordan is a beer maker and the sweet messages guests filled out for the newlyweds that they dropped into a growler. Another fun fact; Brit Tarr, the bride but also another “suite mate” is the Hair and Makeup Artist of the Wedding Space. Can you believe that she did her own hair and makeup for her wedding day. I mean when you see the photos bellow Im pretty sure your jaw will drop at how STUNNING she looks. So as you can imagine, if she is this good creating her own wedding day look, you better believe she is a top choice for Hair and Makeup for another’s wedding day!
I had the privilege of photographing the pre ceremony, ceremony and the brunch. I also helped coordinate and plan the day which gave me the big boost into creating my official All Inclusive Elopement Package. Because, I seriously was dumbfounded on the fact that this wasn’t happening all the time. So feast your eyes on this sweet, gorgeous, intimate elopement of Jordan and Brit Ziegler in Santa Barbara CA.
